Before I get into the actual healthy lifestyle tips, please remember that a healthy lifestyle, is exactly that - a lifestyle where one lives in a healthy manner.
Now, if you get too fixated on any aspect of living, you can end up worrying about staying on task and getting so wound up that you become totally stressed out.
At which point, you would be living a life that wasn't healthy, or balanced. So please realize that all the information in these pages, including these tips, are for you to learn from and then integrate into your life in a way that is enjoyable and productive.
So, be light-hearted - laugh a lot, be gracious and enjoy your journey.
Ok - having had my little lecture - I hope you find the following short healthy lifestyle tips useful -
1. Whenever you can - see if you can get to bed early. Researchers have found that the hours before midnight give more restful sleep than the hours after, because of various hormonal shifts and peaks occurring in our bodies. As the saying goes "early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise."
2. Keep an eco friendly water bottle on your desk and fill it regularly with filtered water to get your daily quota of life-giving water. (We have so much plastic in our lives - including water bottles and food containers - and plastic can leach nasty chemicals into our water and food, so a stainless steel or glass container helps reduce the potential leaching of chemicals from plastics into our food and water).
3. Enlist the support of family and friends who will support your choices and keep you on track. Not many can employ a professional coach to help encourage them in achieving their goals. Supportive family and friends can really give you the boost and advice you need, particularly when things get tough.

4. Be positively focused on the present - keep motivated by concentrating on the now. Avoid dwelling on the past or becoming overly anxious about the future. This is easy to say, but can be surprisingly difficult to achieve. However, it is a great way to put your life into perspective and truly enjoy life's offerings.
5. Get up and Move - We are designed to move, we need to do whatever we can to get ourselves off the couch regularly. Even just playing a game of cards with the kids or grand-kids is better than hours on end in front of TV. Taking the stairs, walking at lunchtime, cycling to work, sets up a lifestyle pattern for movement.
6. Find the balance between Work and Play - Play and relaxation are as important to your health as they are to your productivity. We kid ourselves when we work, work, work and think this is the way to make the progress we want. By all means work hard, but if you also make sure you take time out to "play" you are far more likely to have a greater number of productive years during your life.
7. Prepare your Environment - In other words, set yourself up for success by putting in place those things that you know benefit your health and eliminate temptations. As a personal example (well, using my husband!) If there is ice cream in our home, I can just about guarantee that Jonathan will eat some every day until it is finished. So, about the only time we have ice cream in our home is for a meal with visitors.

8. Plan - Plan what you want to achieve. Write down your goals. Discuss them with those you trust. And go for it!
9. Healthy Nutrition - Stock up on healthy foods, and learn about natural health supplements. If you don't currently know a lot about nutrition, you will really benefit by spending some time studying information on nutrition. (You will come across contradictions as you read different sources - don't worry about that. As you read more you will gradually find what are consistent nutritional principles and advice.
10. Develop an Attitude of Gratitude - giving thanks each day for the abundance in our lives enriches our spirit, calms our minds, and protects our physical health. This is a really vital tip for those who tend to feel rather depressed or disheartened. Try writing down the things in your life you can be thankful for - you will probably be amazed at how many wonderful things you have to be grateful for which will give you a sense of confidence and deep joy. Another one of the healthy lifestyle tips that tends to fly under the radar - but is truly life changing.
11. Take Inspiration from Role Models - Study the lives of those who have achieved what you are setting out to do, or who have lived a life that is an inspiration to you.
12. Smile and laugh a lot! Seriously - practice being joyous. (It can't hurt you, and you might just find you become happier). Please take on board this as one of the more important healthy lifestyle tips that may just transform your life!
These healthy lifestyle tips will help as a quick reference as you plan ahead. Go for gold!
